    ADRIAN - Ernest Truman White, 88, formerly of Gloff Rd., Dundee, died 6:05 a.m. Saturday in the Adrian Health Care Center, where he had been since January, 1985.

    Friends may call in the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida. He will lie in state Tuesday in the West Ida Immanuel Lutheran Church, Ida, from 10 a.m. until services at 11. The Rev. Dana Runestad will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery.

    Born Oct. 16, 1899, in Warwick Village, Canada, he was the son of Ellsworth and Nina (Robinson) White. He was married June 12, 1920, to Louise Ruehs in the West Ida Church. She died Jan. 10, 1966.

    He was employed as a factory worker by Purolator Products, Petersburg, retiring in 1995. Prior to that, he was employed by the Packard Motor Co., Toledo.

    He was a member of of the West Ida Church.

    Surviving are a son, Melvin of Toledo; three daughters, Mrs. John (Clara) Marsh of Ida, Mrs. Margaret Mapes of Toledo and Mrs. Isaiah (Barbara) Mehan of Clayton; a brother Robert of Fruitland, Fla.; 13 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren.

    He also was preceded in death by an infant son, Robert, and several brothers and sisters.

    Memorials may be made to the West Ida Church.
