Elaine Pernia
BATH - Elaine R. Pernia, 51 of 374 Washington St., died Monday, July 1, at Mid Coast Hospital, Bath.
She was born April 16, 1945, in Bath, the daughter of Truman J. and J. Louise Munsey King. She was educated in Bath schools and graduated from Morse High School in 1963.
Prior to her marrriage to Thomas A, Pernia in 1970, she worked as a telephone operator for New England Telephone Company in Bath.
In 1978, she operated a day care in her home.
Mrs. Pernia was a member of Corliss Street Baptist Church. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, gardening and making crafts.
She is survived by a daughter Lisa A. Pernia of Phippsburg; a sister Jeannette M. King of Bath; a stepbrother Ronald Kay of Monction, New Brunswick; a grandson Zachary C. LaVallee of Phippsburg; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Mayo, Curtis & Hill Funeral Home, 819 High St., Bath, with the Rev. Andrew J. Sullivan of Corliss Street Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Bath.
Visiting hours will be Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
