    Leonard C. Segur
    Jan. 27, 1923 - Dec. 29, 2000

    LAMBERTVILLE - Leonard Clarence Segur, 77, of Lambertville, a former entrepreneur and gas station owner, died at Toledo Hospital, Toledo.

    Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Bedford Funeral Chapel, Temperance, where services will be held at 7 p.m. The Rev. Clark S. Alcock will officiate Cremation will follow.

    Born Jan. 27, 1923, in Erie, he was the son of Clarence and Pearl (Pernia) Segur. He married Elsie Waters in 1944.

    He moved to Lambertville, in 1936 and graduated from Lambertville High School in 1941.

    Mr. Segur owned the Sunoco service station in Trilby during the 1940s and from 1950 to 1970, owned and operated Segur's Gulf Service station in Lambertville. He served as Bedford Township's Constable from 1956 to 1964 and was a special deputy with the Monroe County Sheriff's Department for 30 years. He was a lifetime member ot the ARCA Racing Association and was an avid stock car and drag racer as well as a dirt track motorcycle racer. He Also served as general consultant and transportation director for the Don Charles Auto Show in Toledo. He also worked for R. E. Meader Laboratories, retiring in 1984.

    In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Dennis (Mary) of Temperance, David (Sue) of Muskegon, and Doug of Stony Ridge, Ohio; two daughers, Debra (Charles) Gallagher of Lambertville and Brenda Stalder of Ottawa Lake; a brother, Nicholas; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

    He was preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence (Spindle) and Robert, and a sister, Thelda.

    Memorials may be made to the Toledo Rescue Mission.
